Christening - 10 September 2005

Michael Ryan Dunne, born 18 March 2005 was christened on 10 September 2005, aboard HMAS Benalla, of which Stewart is the Commanding Officer (captain).

The flags behind the font spelt M-I-C-H-A-E-L

This is Stewart and I on the day.

Michael wore a christening gown that was made for his mom for her christening, by her godmother, Davina. There were concerns that he wouldn't fit into the gown due to his size, but we left the top button undone and the rest was fine.

We thought he would cry during the ceremony, but he promptly fell asleep.

The font is the ship's bell, which has Michael's name and the date of the christening engraved inside the rim. It is an old navy tradition that we were happy to uphold.

Godparents Christopher and Janelle Waterson were in attendance. Godfather and uncle, Michael Radtke was unable to attend as he is currently living and working in London.

This is the photo that was published in the Cairns Post on 13 September 2005. They had all the details of the christening.

Both sets of grandparents were able to attend.
